Re: Request for Church Items
Dear Concordia Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
During the Parish Planning Council (PPC) meeting of June 10th council members discussed actions necessary for the closing of our parish. The PPC was in general agreement that in the interest of Christian stewardship we should make a conscientious, solid effort to find a buyer for our church in order to defray losses to depositors of the Ohio District Lutheran Church Extension Fund – our fellow Christians. This desire for stewardship also continues with the property items of Concordia.
When any us of donated items to the church there was an understanding that they became property of Concordia; however, the PPC realizes that there might be some items (perhaps because of sentimental value) that some parishioners might wish to have back.
In the interest of maintaining an orderly process during this period of congregational disbandment, the PPC asks that members submit the enclosed request form (backside of letter) to request ownership of specific donated church items. If you know of members who contributed and might wish to have a particular item, but who have not attended regularly, please direct this information to them. The PPC will consider each request.
Contents that relate to schools will be offered in August to other Lutheran Schools, or organizations that might use those items. Requests for other contents not related to worship must be made before September 20 and claimed by September 30. In the case of multiple requests, a sealed bidding process will be used to designate the new owner. Item will go to the highest bidder. All items will require a reasonable donation, due to our non-profit status.
Please return forms to either Lynn Tanner, Robin Hunt, Walt Osterwisch, Barb Letts, Greg Romshe or mail them back to the church – ATTN: Concordia Item Request.
In Christ:
Robin O. Hunt, Lynn Tanner, Walt Osterwisch, Barb Letts, Greg Romshe
